Irish Eyes are Smiling on Spring 2018
Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy First Day of Spring!
We bet you don’t know much about how either of these spring celebrations came about. Well, here is some interesting information about the two significant days coming up this next week.
Did You Know?: Saint Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick, is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17th, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), who is regarded as the foremost patron saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick’s Day was made an official Christian feast day in the early 17th century and is observed by the Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion, the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Lutheran Church. The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.
Did You ALSO Know?: At the Spring equinox (March 21st), days are approximately 12 hours long with day length increasing as the season progresses. Spring refers to the season, and also to ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth. Swedish meteorologists define the beginning of Spring as the first occasion on which the average daytime temperature exceeds zero degrees Celsius for seven consecutive days, thus the date varies with latitude and elevation. In Persian culture the first day of spring is the first day of the first month (called Farvardin) which begins on March 20th.
We encourage you to enjoy this season, but don’t forget about the need to take care of the projects around the house. Of course, we mean the having your windows professionally cleaned and all your power washing needs (house, pool deck, roof, gutters, driveways, etc…) that will need to be done soon after Spring officially comes in. However, our techs will give you another reason to celebrate when you let them make your home sparkle after a good exterior cleaning.
Complete Power Wash techs are the exterior cleaning experts in the Hagerstown, MD and surrounding Tri-state area of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. We use our softwash technique — low water pressure combined with gentle, environmentally-friendly detergents — to clean every type of surface found at homes and businesses in the region.

Come See Us at the 2018 Home Show
Complete Power Wash’s pressure washing experts want to chat with you at the 2018 HBA Home Show in Hagerstown.
The Tri-state area is officially closing in on the end of Winter, with Spring only a couple weeks away and The Washington County Home Builder’s Association (HBA) Home Show only one week away (March 10th and 11th).
Tim Fields and his team of powering washing experts will be in booth 56 to answer all of your questions about how they can help bring your home back to life after the long, dark days of the last four months. Now is the time to plan to clean up the siding, brick, gutters, walkways, roof, fence and whatever else is keeping your home from sparkling under the newly-rediscovered sunshine.
They will explain the differences between hiring a professional pressure washing company that uses experts who use the softwash technique, compared to someone who buys a power washer and starts undercutting the prices of the pros. More times than not, the results are not nearly as good and damage is done with the use of intense water pressure on residential materials.
The wildly-popular Home Show takes place Saturday, March 10th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday the 11th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m in HCC’s ARCC building. Admission, as in years past, is just $2 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. Officials are expecting about 6,000 people to attend the 2018 event.
If you can’t make it to the show and have questions about CPW’s pressure washing services, contact the Hagerstown, MD office by clicking here or calling 301-842-2290.
Happy President’s Day Weekend
Everyone at Complete Power Wash hopes you and your family have a happy and safe President’s Day weekend!
Did You Know?: Presidents’ Day is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of February. The day honors presidents of the United States, including George Washington, the country’s first president. It was originally established in 1885 in recognition of Washington and is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. Traditionally celebrated on February 22 — Washington’s actual birth date — the holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of Uniform Monday Holiday Act (1971), an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While some states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln (Feb 12th) and others, President’s Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents.

Spring is Just Around the Corner
With Spring just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about warmer-weather projects to get your house ready for the next season.
While most of the Tri-state-area residents are hoping and praying for an early Spring, you should be taking notice of the outdoor projects around your house and making a list of what to do as soon as the weather breaks. We recommend inspecting your siding, roof, fence panels, walkways and gutters for places our professional power washing techs can help. “What kind of help?” you might ask. Our answer is thorough cleaning for beauty and the overall health of your home.
First, look at your home’s roof and gutters. If you see stains or streaking on the roof, that is a fungus that can break down shingles and cause them to fail long before their expected lifetime. Plus, it looks ugly. This is especially important if you are thinking of selling your home soon. Curb appeal — of first impressions — can make all the difference in the world.
Also, make sure the gutters are clean, inside and out. Spring rains will move in more quickly than you’ll realize, so the gutters need to flow and carry the water AWAY from your house. Water that stays near your home can cause problems. Water that runs down your walls and seeps into your walls, WILL cause problems. These types of problems cause thousands of dollars to fix and could make your family sick from the contaminated air.
Next, inspect your siding, brick and stone. If you see green mildew or black mold from moisture, plan to have it professionally cleaned. Our expert cleaning techs will use a softwash approach to make sure that gentle water pressure and environmentally-friendly detergents safely clean all surfaces. This technique will be used on all surfaces, including walkways, fences and anything else that can be cleaned with power washing equipment to ensure no damage is done. Again, damage to these surfaces can cause thousands of dollars in repair bills.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Complete Power Wash Staff!
We hope you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is the perfect holiday to lead into the joyous Christmas season. While some seem to want to jump over it or leave it behind to get to Black Friday, blowup snowmen and Hallmark channel Christmas shows, we want to stop and give thanks. We have had a lot to be thankful for in 2017 and we hope you have too.
We at Complete Power Wash truly hope that on Thursday, you stop and reflect on all your blessings, and the blessing that you have been to others this year. We know it is common place these days to dwell on what we don’t have, but if you have been blessed with good health, a home, friends, children, faith, a job, a pet and/or whatever it might be that makes life a little better, we hope you will take some time now to reflect on those gifts. Our intention is to do the same and then go into the Christmas season being grateful for what we have already received.
We know it is getting late in the year and the weather is sometimes iffy at best, but if you do need your house’s exterior cleaned before Christmas, please contact us here and we will do our very best to make it happen.

Power Washing: Last Chance Before the Holidays
The Colder Weather and Holidays Bring an End to the Power Washing Season
Well, it’s almost that time of year again for professional power washing companies in the Tri-State area of Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia is store away their equipment and wait for spring to arrive. It’s that time when the leaves have mostly fallen, the nights are colder and the holidays are almost here…along with relatives walking up that front sidewalk. How clean is your sidewalk? Is it inviting like the coming holidays or scary, better suited for Halloween?
The technicians at Complete Power Wash haven’t completely packed up their equipment for 2017. There are still a few spots on the schedule open for pressure washing your sidewalk, roof, siding, gutters, etc….Whatever it is that is taking away from the beauty of your home, just know that there is still time to get a free estimate and book an appointment by clicking here.
The softwash technique — using gentle pressure and environmentally-friendly detergents — can wash away green gobs and black streaks without damaging any surface. Then, when the aunts, uncles and cousins arrive in a few weeks, they can walk up the clean walkway and see the lights gleaming off the freshly-scrubbed, recently-decorated home.
Complete Power Wash techs serve residents and businesses throughout the Tri-State (Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia) area, including Hagerstown, Hancock, Clean Spring, Boonsboro, Smithsburg, Myersville and Funkstown in Maryland; Greencastle, Waynesboro and State Line in Pennsylvania; and Falling Waters and Martinsburg in West Virginia.
Fall Colors Can Bring Black Streaks to Roofs & Siding
Everyone loves the colorful Fall foliage of Western Maryland, but as the leaves drop, dirt and other grime can build up on your home.
Many people only think about the beautiful parts of Fall. They think about the colors — although this year has not been great; the cool temperatures; corn fields and mazes; and pumpkin spice everything. But what most aren’t thinking about is the dirt that is falling on their roof, the debris jamming up the gutters and the rotting leaves laying on the shingles, where moisture will be trapped all winter long.
The leaves and the dirt can be easily cleaned by Complete Power Wash technicians trained to use the “softwash” technique. This is a professional cleaning technique using gentle water pressure and environmentally-friendly detergents. This is perfect for cleaning thoroughly, without the threat of damaging surfaces, especially shingles, gutters and other parts of a home’s protective exterior.
Some homeowners may notice leaves on the roof or in gutters, but may simply think it is not a big deal or “I’ll just clean it up in the Spring when the temperatures warm up.” If the leaves are left for too long, the moisture can build up and cause algae, which can breakdown shingles. Those black streak are not only ugly, but harmful.
Leaves, sticks and acorns are also the perfect recipe for causing water backups in gutters. This can lead to mold issues behind siding, affecting interior walls and causing health problems for those living inside.
If you would like to schedule us to clean your home after the last leaf has fallen — or at least before the first snowflake falls — please contact us by clicking here.
Complete Power Wash techs serve residents and businesses throughout the Tri-State (Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia) area, including Hagerstown, Clean Spring, Boonsboro, Smithsburg and Funkstown in Maryland; Greencastle, Waynesboro and State Line in Pennsylvania; and Falling Waters and Martinsburg in West Virginia.
Cheaper Not Always Cheap When Hiring Pressure Washing Company
When hiring someone to pressure wash your home, roof, gutters or sidewalks, going cheap can sometimes cost more than just a few dollars.
When people hire a “cheap” or “inexpensive” pressure wash company, they generally get what they pay for, which is NOT good. Sometimes it looks a little cleaner, but not quite as good as the customer expects. Sometimes it’s worse, especially when the novice uses too much pressure and causes damage to the surface (as in the photo here).
And while we do compete against pressure washing companies that offer “cheap prices,” we know that our experience and commitment to customer satisfaction will be the best decision for homeowners in the Tri-State (Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia) area. We simply think customers should get the best service for a fair price.
Our techs have years of experience in cleaning all kinds of surfaces. The estimator and the techs make sure you understand what to expect and that the results match up with that expectation.
Contact Complete Power Wash owner Tim Fields today at the company’s Hagerstown office. He can explain the benefits of using a company that features the softwash technique of gentle detergents and low water pressure to get the pressure washing results. This technique is best for cleaning without damaging surfaces or removing paint or other finishes.

Interesting Facts About Labor Day: Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. This year it is September 4th. The holiday honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Beginning in the late 19th century, as the trade union and labor movements grew, trade unionists proposed that a day be set aside to celebrate workers. In 1887, Oregon was the first state of the United States to make it an official public holiday. By the time it became an official federal holiday in 1894, thirty U.S. states officially celebrated Labor Day.
Canada’s Labour Day is also celebrated on the first Monday of September. More than 80 countries celebrate International Workers’ Day on May 1 – the ancient European holiday of May Day – and several countries have chosen their own dates for Labour Day.
